WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Submission Guidelines: WISH Academy High School Anthology
We are seeking original, compelling voices for our upcoming High School Anthology. Whether you write prose, craft poetry, illustrate narratives, or create artwork we want to see your best work.
Eligibility
- Grade Level: Currently enrolled students in Grades 9–12.
- Originality: All work must be the creator’s original intellectual property. No AI-generated content or fan fiction.
Content Standards (The “YA” Rule)
All submissions must be suitable for Young Adult (YA) audiences. Think of this as a “PG-13” rating.
- Allowed: Complex themes, stylized action, and emotional depth.
- Prohibited: Excessive graphic violence, explicit sexual content, or gratuitous profanity.
- Tone: We value diverse perspectives and stories that resonate with the high school experience.

Formatting Your Work
To make our editors’ lives easier, please follow these industry-standard formats:
- Text Documents: Use Times New Roman, 12pt font, double-spaced. THIS FORMATTING IS PREFERRED
- File Naming: Name your file as
Category_LastName_EnglishClassroom#_Title(e.g.,Poetry_Smith_W4_Shadows.docx). - Anonymity: Do not include your name inside the document. We use a blind review process to ensure fairness. While the preferred formatting (above) includes Author Name, simply write:

How to Submit
Please send your work via the button below. In the body of your email or form, include:
- Full Name
- Grade Level & School
- A brief (50-word) third-person bio. — e.g., Alex Rivera is a junior at WISH Academy High who enjoys exploring urban fantasy settings. They began writing short stories in middle school and have since developed a passion for world-building. When not writing, Alex likes to code simple games, play varsity tennis, or explore local hiking trails. This marks their debut publication.
- Don’t worry if this is your first time being published! Just use the ‘debut publication’ line—we love being the first to showcase new talent. If this is not your first time publishing, say, “This is their first, (etc.,) time publishing.”

- Notification of Acceptance: May 20, 2026
A Note on Rights
By submitting, you grant WISH Academy High School Anthology II* the non-exclusive right to publish your work in print and digital formats. You retain all copyrights to your work after publication.
*The Official Title will be chosen by the students of Wish Academy High School.
